Recent developments - Europe’s major pellet buyers seek standardization

Some of Europe’s biggest buyers of industrial wood pellets met in Brussels earlier this month for talks on the need for greater standardization.

Hosted by Belgian utility Electrabel, the meeting was attended by Drax, Eon, RWE, Vattenfall and Dong Energy, with the remit of introducing standardization in a range of areas. Laborelec, Inspectorate, Peterson Control Union and Eurelectric attended to offer expert opinion and analysis. Argus was invited to report on proceedings to the wider market.
